ASUS Wi-Fi@HOME, as the name suggests, is the latest platform specifically designed to simplify the process of building a wireless home network. In short, the goal of ASUS Wi-Fi@HOME is to enable reliable wireless data transfer through the 802.11g/b standard, easy Internet access sharing and simple setup at an affordable price.

Cost-saving solution There are two types of Wi-Fi components in a wireless network: 1) APs (access points) are expensive standalone devices that act as base stations to connect various computers wirelessly. 2) Client devices such as add-on cards for desktops or PC cards for notebooks. The WiFi-g combined the two for a cost effective solution. It is an add-on card that links your desktop to existing APs and it also bundles ASUS Software AP to turn your system into the base station of the wireless home network. (Note: Software AP functions are only available under Windows XP and 2003 OS).
